2. Services Covered
Depending on product suitability, artisan or supplier availability and operational capacity, Trishtara Kashi may consider requests for:
- fall-pico;
- tassel finishing;
- made-to-order weaving;
- special sourcing;
- customer-specific product procurement;
- reservation of a saree from a supplier, artisan or weaver; and
- another specifically confirmed product-related service.
No service should be assumed to be available unless Trishtara Kashi confirms it in writing.
3. Services Not Presently Offered
Unless a particular request is expressly accepted in writing, Trishtara Kashi does not presently provide:
- blouse stitching;
- blouse fitting;
- general garment alteration;
- saree resizing;
- embroidery alteration; or
- other tailoring services.
A stitched or styled blouse shown in a photograph, video, AI-assisted visual or editorial image does not mean that blouse stitching is included with the saree.
4. Submission and Acceptance of a Request
Submitting a custom, sourcing or made-to-order request does not require Trishtara Kashi to accept it.
A request may be accepted or declined after considering:
- design and technical feasibility;
- artisan, weaver or supplier availability;
- yarn, zari and other material availability;
- required timeline;
- minimum production requirements;
- quality expectations;
- customer budget;
- delivery location; and
- operational capacity.
A request becomes an accepted order only after the final written terms have been confirmed, the agreed payment has been received and verified, and Trishtara Kashi has issued written or electronic order confirmation.
5. Written Order Specifications
Before made-to-order weaving, sourcing or customer-specific work begins, the following will ordinarily be confirmed in writing where applicable:
- product type;
- fabric or material;
- weaving or production technique;
- main colour or colour family;
- zari colour or type;
- body, border and pallu requirements;
- motif or design reference;
- blouse-piece requirement;
- approximate measurements;
- fall-pico or tassel requirement;
- price;
- payment structure;
- estimated production or sourcing timeline;
- shipping arrangement; and
- important product-specific limitations.
Only the final written confirmation should be treated as the approved specification.
Informal discussions, inspiration photographs, preliminary suggestions and verbal conversations do not independently constitute final specifications.
6. Reference Images and Design Inspiration
Customers may provide photographs, videos, sketches, screenshots or an existing saree reference to explain their preference.
Reference material is treated as guidance and does not create a guarantee of exact reproduction.
Differences may arise because of:
- loom and weaving technique;
- artisan interpretation;
- yarn, zari and dye-lot availability;
- motif scale and pattern repeat;
- fabric construction;
- hand-production characteristics;
- supplier capability; and
- intellectual-property or legal restrictions.
Trishtara Kashi will not knowingly promise an exact copy where exact reproduction cannot reasonably be assured.
7. AI-Generated, Digital and Editorial References
AI-generated, digitally enhanced or editorial images may be used for design discussion, drape visualisation, blouse inspiration or styling reference.
Such images may contain details, proportions, colours or combinations that cannot be reproduced exactly through weaving, sourcing or finishing.
A custom order will be governed by the final written specifications and actual approved product references—not merely by an AI-generated, edited or styled image.
8. Colour Understanding and Approval
Digital screens, photographs and video calls cannot guarantee exact physical colour reproduction.
Colour may appear different because of:
- screen calibration and brightness;
- lighting;
- camera processing;
- dye lot;
- yarn and fabric material;
- fabric lustre;
- zari reflection; and
- hand-production variation.
Where available, a colour family, physical reference, yarn photograph or another practical reference may be used.
A minor colour variation within the confirmed colour family will not automatically constitute a defect. A claim may still be considered where the finished product is materially different from the expressly confirmed colour requirement or approved reference.
9. Product Claims and Certification
Descriptions such as “handloom”, “handwoven”, “pure silk”, “real zari”, “certified”, “GI-tagged”, “Silk Mark” or similar claims will be used only where the relevant product-level claim is specifically confirmed or appropriately qualified.
A made-to-order or custom request does not automatically carry any certification, mark, government authentication or laboratory verification unless expressly stated in the written order specification.
No certification should be inferred merely from a material, weave, origin or craft description.
10. Handmade, Weaving and Production Variations
Where a product is specifically confirmed as handloom, handwoven, handcrafted or artisan-made, reasonable variations may occur in:
- motif alignment and pattern repeat;
- yarn texture, joins or slubs;
- selvedge;
- border and pallu placement;
- zari appearance;
- colour distribution;
- minor weaving marks; and
- approximate measurements.
Such characteristics may arise naturally from artisan production and do not automatically constitute manufacturing defects.
A claim may still be considered where the product is materially defective, damaged, incorrect or materially different from the final written specifications.
11. Price Confirmation
The price of a custom, special-sourcing or made-to-order request will depend on the final agreed specifications.
The confirmed price may include, where applicable:
- saree or material cost;
- weaving or production cost;
- special yarn or zari;
- design-development or sampling cost;
- sourcing or procurement cost;
- fall-pico or tassels;
- special packaging;
- domestic or international shipping; and
- applicable taxes.
Unless otherwise stated, confirmed prices for domestic customers are inclusive of applicable GST.
A preliminary estimate is not a final price until the final specification and price have been confirmed in writing.
12. Payment Before Work Begins
Custom, made-to-order or special-sourcing work will begin only after:
- final specifications have been confirmed;
- the payment requirement has been communicated;
- the agreed advance or full payment has been successfully received and verified; and
- Trishtara Kashi has confirmed acceptance or commencement.
Cash on Delivery is not available.
A payment screenshot alone is not conclusive proof that payment has been received.
13. Advance and Balance Payment
Depending on the nature of the order, Trishtara Kashi may require:
- full payment before commencement; or
- an agreed advance followed by balance payment before dispatch.
The applicable payment structure will be confirmed in writing for the specific order.
Where balance payment is required, the product will not be dispatched until the full payable amount has been successfully received and verified.
An advance is not an arbitrary penalty. Its treatment upon cancellation will depend on the actual work completed, materials purchased, commitments incurred, recoverable amounts, written terms and applicable law.
14. Commencement of Work
Work may be treated as commenced when any of the following occurs:
- fall-pico or tassel work begins;
- yarn, zari or another material is purchased or allocated;
- a weaver, artisan or supplier is assigned or paid;
- design setting, graphing, sampling or preparation begins;
- special sourcing or procurement begins;
- a specific product is reserved for the customer;
- production is placed on a loom; or
- another customer-specific cost or commitment is incurred.
Trishtara Kashi will ordinarily communicate when an order is accepted and work is scheduled or has begun.
15. Changes Before Work Begins
A customer may request a specification change before work begins.
The request will be subject to feasibility, availability, price adjustment, timeline adjustment and written approval from Trishtara Kashi.
No change becomes effective merely because it has been requested. The revised specification, price and timeline must be confirmed in writing.
16. Changes After Work Begins
Once customer-specific work has begun, a requested change may not be technically or commercially possible.
Where a change can be considered, it may involve:
- additional material or service cost;
- material wastage;
- reworking;
- a revised production timeline;
- supplier, weaver or artisan approval; and
- reduced ability to match the original request.
Trishtara Kashi may accept or decline a late change request on reasonable grounds.
Work will not be altered unless the revised terms and any additional customer-approved payment have been confirmed.
17. Cancellation Before Work Begins
A cancellation request may ordinarily be considered before customer-specific work, procurement, sourcing or production begins.
Cancellation is effective only after written confirmation from Trishtara Kashi.
No arbitrary fixed cancellation penalty will be deducted.
Where no customer-specific work has begun and no actual non-recoverable customer-approved cost has been incurred, an approved cancellation refund will ordinarily include the amount received for the cancelled product or service.
Refund processing will follow the Cancellation Policy and Payment & Order Confirmation Policy.
18. Cancellation After Work Begins
Once fall-pico, tassel work, weaving, sourcing, procurement, artisan allocation or another customer-specific process has begun, change-of-mind cancellation will not ordinarily be accepted.
This applies where the customer later changes personal preference, occasion, colour preference, budget, design preference, delivery plan or purchase decision.
Where cancellation is nevertheless considered, payment treatment will depend on:
- work already completed;
- materials purchased or allocated;
- supplier, weaver or artisan commitments;
- recoverable and non-recoverable amounts;
- the final written order terms; and
- applicable law.
Any retained amount will be limited to the actual relevant cost or completed service value and will not be treated as an arbitrary penalty.
This restriction does not remove a genuine claim relating to a wrong product, material damage, material defect, materially incorrect customisation or a product materially different from the final written specifications.
19. Fall-Pico
Fall-pico may be offered for selected sarees and must be confirmed before work begins.
Once fall-pico begins:
- change-of-mind cancellation will not ordinarily be accepted;
- the saree will be treated as customer-specific;
- the completed or commenced service value may remain non-refundable; and
- dispatch may require additional processing time.
A minor variation in matching thread colour or finishing does not automatically constitute a defect.
This section does not excuse materially incorrect or defective fall-pico work.
20. Tassels
Tassel work may be offered depending on the saree, pallu construction and available material.
Tassel colour, size, pattern and finishing may vary slightly within the confirmed style or colour family.
Once tassel work begins, change-of-mind cancellation will not ordinarily be accepted, the product will be treated as customer-specific and additional processing time may apply.
This section does not excuse materially incorrect or defective tassel work.
21. Made-to-Order Timeline
The estimated production or sourcing timeline will be confirmed separately for each accepted request.
The timeline may include:
- design discussion and confirmation;
- material procurement;
- loom or production preparation;
- weaving or sourcing;
- finishing;
- quality control;
- fall-pico or tassels;
- balance-payment completion; and
- dispatch preparation.
An estimated timeline is not an absolute guarantee unless a specific date is expressly accepted in writing as an essential condition of the order.
A customer with a fixed wedding, travel, gifting or event deadline should disclose it before payment. Trishtara Kashi will confirm whether the requested timeline can reasonably be accepted.
22. Possible Production or Sourcing Delays
A custom or made-to-order request may be delayed because of:
- artisan, weaver or loom availability;
- yarn, zari or material shortage;
- dyeing delay or dye-lot mismatch;
- material rejection;
- quality-control failure;
- reweaving, correction or re-sourcing;
- illness or emergency affecting an artisan or supplier;
- public holidays;
- weather or transport disruption; or
- another circumstance outside reasonable control.
Where a material delay becomes known, Trishtara Kashi will make reasonable efforts to communicate an update and a revised estimate.
If the delay becomes substantial and Trishtara Kashi cannot reasonably fulfil an expressly accepted essential timeline, the parties will discuss an appropriate solution, which may include a revised timeline, an agreed alternative or cancellation and refund of the amount attributable to the unfulfilled product or service, subject to applicable law and any customer-approved completed work that remains usable or has been delivered.
23. Quality Control
Before dispatch, Trishtara Kashi will make reasonable efforts to review the product against the final written specifications.
Quality control may consider:
- product type;
- main colour family;
- weave or construction;
- body, border and pallu;
- blouse piece;
- visible condition;
- agreed finishing; and
- material deviations.
A product may be held back, corrected, reworked, re-sourced or rejected where it does not reasonably satisfy the confirmed requirements. Such action may extend the estimated timeline.
24. Approval Photographs or Video
Where practical, photographs or video may be shared before dispatch for customer understanding, clarification or approval.
Screen-based approval remains subject to colour-display, lighting, camera and internet limitations.
Customer approval of a photograph or video confirms only what could reasonably be understood from that material and the written specification.
Sharing or approving photographs or video does not waive a customer’s rights concerning a wrong, materially damaged, materially defective or materially misrepresented product.
25. Material Substitution
A particular yarn, zari, colour, component, artisan or source may become unavailable after initial discussion.
No material substitution will be treated as approved merely because it is operationally convenient.
Where a significant substitution becomes necessary, Trishtara Kashi will ordinarily:
- inform the customer;
- explain the proposed alternative;
- obtain written approval; and
- confirm any price or timeline impact.
The customer will not be required to accept a materially different substitute without consent.
26. Dispatch
A made-to-order or customer-specific product will ordinarily be dispatched only after:
- production or sourcing is complete;
- quality control is complete;
- approved finishing is complete;
- full payment has been received and verified; and
- delivery information has been confirmed.
The standard ready-stock dispatch estimate may not apply. A dispatch update will be communicated when the product is ready.
27. Delivery
Domestic and international delivery will be governed by the Shipping & Delivery Policy.
Courier delivery time begins after dispatch and is separate from the production or sourcing timeline.
A courier or customs delay after dispatch does not by itself mean that the production or sourcing stage was delayed.
28. Returns and Eligible Claims
Custom, altered and made-to-order products are not ordinarily eligible for a change-of-mind return or exchange.
A claim may be considered where:
- a wrong product was supplied;
- the product was materially damaged in transit;
- the product contains a material defect;
- customer-specific work was materially different from what was confirmed; or
- the product is materially different from the final written specifications or actual representations provided by Trishtara Kashi.
A visible issue should ordinarily be reported within 48 hours of delivery.
A defect not reasonably discoverable during an initial inspection should be reported promptly after discovery.
The customer should provide the order number, a clear written explanation, relevant photographs and—where available—an unboxing video or other reasonable evidence.
The absence of one particular form of evidence will not automatically defeat a genuine claim where the matter can otherwise be reasonably verified.
Eligible claims are governed by the Returns, Refunds & Exchanges Policy.
29. Minor Variations Not Automatically Treated as Defects
The following will not automatically constitute defects where they remain within reasonable handmade, sourced or confirmed production variation:
- minor colour variation;
- minor motif-placement variation;
- slight approximate-measurement variation;
- small yarn irregularity, join or slub;
- minor selvedge variation;
- slight zari-tone variation;
- reasonable artisan-production marks; and
- differences arising only from screen display.
This section is not intended to excuse a material defect or a material departure from the confirmed specification.
30. Remedies for an Approved Claim
All claims are subject to reasonable verification and, where appropriate, inspection.
Depending on the nature of the approved claim, feasibility and product availability, an appropriate remedy may include:
- rectification or correction;
- replacement or re-production;
- partial refund;
- store credit accepted by the customer; or
- full refund.
The remedy will be proportionate to the verified issue and governed by the Returns, Refunds & Exchanges Policy and applicable law.
31. Cancellation or Non-Fulfilment by Trishtara Kashi
Trishtara Kashi may cancel or discontinue a custom request where fulfilment becomes impracticable because of material unavailability, artisan or supplier inability, repeated quality-control failure, legal restriction, security concern or another reasonable ground.
Where Trishtara Kashi cannot fulfil the order for a reason not attributable to the customer, the amount received for the unfulfilled product and unprovided service will be refunded in full.
No cancellation charge will be imposed on the customer in such a case.
Where a customer has separately received or retained a completed, usable and expressly accepted part of the order, the treatment of that part will be discussed and recorded transparently.
32. Refund Method and Timeline
An approved refund will ordinarily be initiated within 7 business days after the relevant cancellation, verification, return receipt or inspection requirement has been completed.
The refund will ordinarily be made to the original payment method or another appropriately verified method where necessary.
After Trishtara Kashi initiates the refund, the bank, card issuer, UPI provider, wallet or payment gateway may require additional time to reflect the amount.
Trishtara Kashi does not control third-party banking or payment-settlement timelines.
33. Customer-Supplied Content and Intellectual Property
A customer providing a photograph, logo, artwork, motif, design, celebrity image or another reference confirms that the customer has the right or permission to provide it for the requested purpose.
Trishtara Kashi may decline a request that appears to infringe intellectual-property, privacy, personality, cultural or other legal rights.
Acceptance of reference material does not transfer ownership of Trishtara Kashi’s independent design, sourcing, content or business materials to the customer.
34. Customer Responsibilities
The customer is responsible for:
- providing clear and lawful requirements;
- reviewing the final written specification;
- confirming colour, design and material preferences;
- providing accurate measurements where relevant;
- disclosing any essential event or delivery deadline before payment;
- making payment within the agreed timeline;
- responding to clarification and approval requests;
- providing correct delivery information; and
- reviewing the applicable policies before confirmation.
A delay in customer response, approval or payment may extend the production and delivery timeline.
35. No Guarantee of Future Repeatability
A made-to-order design may depend on particular artisans, yarn, dye lots, zari, material availability and loom settings.
An identical repeat order may not always be possible.
Where repeat production is possible, the price, material, colour, artisan and timeline may differ from the original order.
36. Statutory Consumer Rights
Nothing in this Policy excludes, restricts or overrides any consumer right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Where this Policy conflicts with a mandatory legal requirement, the applicable legal requirement will prevail.

Trishtara Kashi may revise this Policy to reflect changes in services, weaving arrangements, supplier operations, payment requirements, production procedures, website functionality, business operations or applicable law.
The latest version will be displayed on the website with its updated date.
